A New Opportunity to Help
An unseen consequence of the opioid epidemic is the large number of people who are unable or unwilling to enter rehab because it means abandoning their pets.
We are looking for people who love animals and are willing to foster a pet for a very limited time. (Usually, rehab in NY lasts between 2 and 4 weeks.) We also need a volunteer who will coordinate this service. Of course, we want to make sure that the pets are protected as well as the families that foster them, so we will put some procedures and guidelines into place.
